The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has released its preliminary Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) scores for the 2022-23 school year.
Granbury ISD received an A rating, which equals superior achievement and a district score of 100. Both are the highest ratings a school district can receive from the TEA for financial integrity ratings. It’s the eighth straight year that Granbury ISD has received a superior achievement rating for financial integrity from the TEA.
The state's school financial accountability rating system, known as the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST), ensures that Texas public schools are held accountable for the quality of their financial management practices and that they improve these practices. The system is designed to encourage Texas public schools to better manage their financial resources to provide the maximum allocation possible for direct instructional purposes.

This is the second recognition that Granbury ISD has received from the TEA in the last week. Granbury ISD was named a Purple Star School District on Sept. 5 and is the largest school district in the state of Texas to have every campus awarded a Purple Star. The Purple Star Campus Designation program recognizes Texas public schools for their exceptional commitment to supporting and meeting the unique needs of military-connected students and their families.
